1982 and 1985 Cardinals Post Season Photos (4)
Busch Stadium was synonymous with victory, and by extension, victory celebrations. Indeed, the scent of victory intertwined with those of hot dogs and beer. It also is reflected in the gallery of team photos all around the park, none more so than these four marvelous photographs that hung in the sitting area just outside the Cardinals club. All photos are roughly 33” x 39” and include an unforgettable color image starring Busch Stadium itself, with Cardinal players and their fans milling about in delirium on the field after the final out of the 1982 World Series against the Milwaukee Brewers, with the score beaming off the left field scoreboard, bathed in silhouetted darkness by the October night. The other three photos are in black and white with an evocative sepia tone, showing Willie McGee at bat during the 1982 championship season, Bruce Sutter and Darrell Porter embracing after the ‘82 World Series conquest of the Brewers, and Ozzy Smith, Todd Worrell and Jack Clark meeting on the mound to discuss strategies. All photographs are under glass in identical copper frames with identifying information on small plaques beneath each image, and are in NRMT condition. <br>(Estimate $1,000 - $1,500)
