1982 North Carolina Final Four NCAA Tournament Collection w/Michael Jordan Finals PSA Graded Ticket

The Last Dance television documentary showed the world the behind the scenes look at basketball's consensus GOAT, Michael Jordan. The 1982 NCAA Men's Basketball Final Four offered the basketball world the very first glimpse at Michael Jordan as a big game clutch winner. Offered are three great items from the Final Four games of the 1981-82 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament, held on March 27 and 29 at the Louisiana Superdome. The objects include: a ticket stub for the two Semi-Final games and a ticket stub for the Championship game, plus a game program from these Final Four games. These items are offered at an opportune time - just previous to the 2021-22 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament, the Fortieth Anniversary of these games. In the Semi-Finals, North Carolina defeated Houston 68-63 and Georgetown defeated Louisville 50-46. The Final contest, between North Carolina and Georgetown was close all the way, with the lead changing 15 times. With just over a minute left in the game, North Carolina trailed 62-61. North Carolia coach Dean Smith (HOF) reasoned that Georgetown - coached by John Thompson (HOF) - would be concentrating on his two stars, James Worthy and Sam Perkins, so Smith told freshman guard Michael Jordan to not be afraid to take the last shot. Jordan took a shot from the left wing that went in with 17 seconds remaining, and North Carolina held on for a one-point win. Years later, Jordan said he often recalled hitting that winning shot in the NCAA Championship Game when he had to take many other last second shots as a professional. The Semi-Final ticket stub has been encapsulated and graded by PSA as FR 1.5, and the ticket stub for the Final Game has been encapsulated and graded by PSA Good 2. The 128-page program features a wonderful cover image symbolizing the host city of New Orleans, plus articles on all four teams, rosters, individual photos of all the players, and NCAA Tournament statistics. Also included is a rare insert, an advertisement showing a seating chart for the massive Louisiana Superdome, whose basketball seating capacity is over 55,000. The items are a valued remembrance of the Greatest of All Time player when he triumphed in the last seconds of the NCAA Final as a freshman.
