1982 Willie Stargell Signed Game Worn Pirates Jersey
Willie Stargell did it all. He was a seven-time N.L. All-Star, two-time World Champion, and attained a most impressive trifecta in 1979 when he was named the N.L. MVP, the NLCS MVP, and the World series MVP. In 1988, he was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame.Here we offer Pops’ home/road alternate jersey from his swansong season of 1982. Brilliant gold knit pullover displays “Pirates 8” across the chest with “Stargell 8” on the verso, all sewn on in black and white tackle twill. Stretchy black/gold/white trim adorns the v-neck collar and sleeve cuffs. There is a “Wilson 48” manufacturer’s label in the collar and a rectangular gold knit swatch in the tail with “8 82” stitched in black chainlink. Meanwhile, the top right front is inscribed and signed “To Rusty, Willie Stargell” in black sharpie. The jersey shows light wear and would be a fantastic addition to any baseball collection.
