1983 John Stallworth Pittsburgh Steelers Game Worn Jersey

Taken in the fourth round of the 1974 NFL Draft, John Stallworth did more than just make good on the modest draft capital the Steelers spent to select him, he became one of the best players in franchise history and one of the all-time great receivers in the entire league. Stallworth, a graduate of Alabama A&M, spent a year refining his craft on the bench before being inserted into the starting lineup in his sophomore season. The reliable receiver developed quite the rapport with quarterback Terry Bradshaw, as the partnership would go on to combine for an impressive four Super Bowl victories as part of the "Steel Curtain" teams of the 1970's. Stallworth spent his entire 14-year career in Pittsburgh, accumulating gaudy totals of 537 receptions, 8723 receiving yards, and 63 touchdown receptions. He was named to the Pro Bowl three times and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2002. This classic Steelers black, home jersey was game worn by Stallworth during the 1983 season. The jersey features "STALLWORTH" sewn in gold lettering on a black name plate on the back, while his number "82" appears stitched in white on the front, back, and both shoulders. A Medalist Sand-Knit tag can be found on the tail, denoting the jersey's size as 44, with an adjacent "83" tag representing the year it was made. Some pilling is present, as well as a few team repairs, but the jersey remains a fantastic piece of Steelers memorabilia. All jerseys come directly from the Steelers archive and come with a letter from the Steelers.

A portion of the proceeds from the sale of Steelers Archives items will be donated to the Chuck Noll Foundation for Brain Injury Research
