1983 Tom Seaver Final Season Game Used New York Mets Hat
1983 game used New York Mets hat dates from the one-year return to the Big Apple of the immortal Tom Seaver. New Era cap shows light use with a cracked bill, iconic number 41 is written under the bill in black marker, and the leather band looks close to new. New Era and size 7 3/8 tags are sewn on band. After establishing himself as one of the game's top pitchers over the first decade of his career - all with the Mets - denizens of the Big Apple had their hearts broken when "The Franchise" was dealt to the Cincinnati Reds in 1977. Six years later, he returned for one homecoming season in Queens, though he was hardly the Tom Terrific of old, posting a 9-14 record and 3.55 ERA. Still, this serves as a fine memento of the return of one of New York's all-time great sporting figures.
