1984-85 Chicago Bulls Pocket Schedule Michael Jordan Rookie BGS MINT 9
In the 1984-85 season, things were beginning to build in Chicago. The Bulls had drafted Michael Jordan, and he became an immediate star. averaging 28.2 PPG for the season and winning the Rookie of the Year Award. The cover of this 2.75x4" schedule features a black and white portrait shot of Jordan. The schedule also says of Jordan, "Gold Medal winner - high scorer of the U.S. Olympic team. College Player of the Year in 1983 and 1984." The pocket schedule also lists ticket prices, and the most expensive seats, in the Club Circle and Loge, cost $11.50. The cheapest seats were in the second balcony, and these tickets cost $4.50. In a bid to sell more group tickets, the schedule also states, "For groups of 25 or more, discount of $1.50 on Mezzanine or second balcony seats, or a free bus is on us." The Bulls finished the season in third place in the Eastern Conference at 38-44, and they were eliminated in the first round of the play-offs by the Milwaukee Bucks. They drew 487,297 fans in 1984-85, and i<span style="font-size: 13px;">n the last season of the amazing Chicago Bulls' second Three-Peat, their attendance had doubled, to 978,457. </span>But, as the schedule advertises, Michael Jordan had arrived, and six championships were in the future for Jordan and his Bulls. The pocket schedule is a nice remembrance of Michael Jordan's stellar rookie season and the beginning of the Chicago Bulls' dynasty. If the documentary <em>The Last Dance</em> chronicled Jordan and the Bulls at their peak, the Bulls pocket schedule is a souvenir of the dynasty's beginning.
