1984 Cecilio Guante Pittsburgh Pirates Game Worn Jersey
<p>Pittsburgh Pirates jersey worn by relief pitcher Cecilio Guante in 1984. The gold knit jersey is lettered "Pirates" across the front and features the number "47" on the front and reverse, all of which are applied in black on white tackle twill. The name "Guante" is lettered in black tackle twill upon a gold name plate on the reverse. A "Wilson size 42" label appears in the collar. A gold strip tag on the left front tail features the jersey number, year, and set number ("47 84 2") embroidered in black. Gold jerseys were worn by the Pirates for both home and away games in 1984. This particular jersey style, which was mixed and matched with various pants, was used by the club between the years 1977 and 1984. The jersey is all original and displays light-to-moderate wear. Guante appeared in 27 games in 1984, finishing the season with a 2-3 record, 2 saves, and a 2.61 ERA.</p>
