1984 USFL Arizona Wranglers Championship Ring
The USFL began in March 1985 as a spring alternative to the NFL, stocked with ex-NFL executives, coaches, QBs and dilettante owners including one Donald Trump. Three seasons and $163 million in red ink later, Trump & Co. were told "you're fired" by the sporting public. Ah, but what memories. Witness the Arizona Wranglers, coached by George Allen. Their 2nd season they made a trade with the Chicago Blitz -- not for one or two players but one entire roster for the other! As a result, the "new Wranglers" won the Western Conference title, a feat marked by this dazzling ring presented to Wrangler assistant coach Dave Wood. No corners cut here. 10K gold Jostens ring has a real diamond and ruby surrounded by approx. 20 smaller diamonds. Corona reads "Western Conference Champions". One shank has engravings of "Arizona Wranglers", USFL ball, scores from 2 playoff games and the team motto "Keep Fighting." Other shank has "Woody 1984" and a Wrangler helmet. Size 10.5. Also an '84 Wrangler yearbook listing Woody. LOA from Wood.
