Racing Hall of Fame jockey Angel Cordero, Jr. sported these dashing blue and gray silks while riding thoroughbred Spend A Buck to the 1985 Kentucky Derby crown. This originate from the family of Spend A Buck's owner, Dennis Diaz, who kept it after the race. The jacket, which has a Custom Jockeys Apparel tag in the collar, shows nice use. "Dennis Diaz" is embroidered on the front tail with additional handwritten markings inside. "HF" is visible on the front and back, signifying Hunter Farms, the name of the stables owned by Diaz. The lot comes with a photo of Cordero wearing this very jacket immediately following his victorious ride at Churchill Downs. All buttons and lettering match up perfectly. A wire-to-wire winner, Spend A Buck's 2:00 1/5 time remains the fourth fastest of all-time at the Derby. The 1985 Horse of the Year did not compete in the two other Triple Crown events that year.
