1986 Richard Dent Chicago Bears Super Bowl XX MVP Hand-Painted Football

Presented is the opportunity to possess a Wilson Official National Football League Super Bowl XX football, held on Jan. 26, 1986, at the Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana, that has been hand painted for the Super Bowl XX MVP (Richard Dent, the right defensive end of the Super Bowl Champion Chicago Bears) and also signed by Dent. In the 1985 season, the Chicago Bears outscored their opponents by an amazing 456-198. Chicago, coached by Buddy Ryan, featured the then-innovative "46 Defense," a complex defense that featured many blitzes and man-to-man coverages, and led the NFL in interceptions with 34. In Super Bowl XX, the Bears defeated the New England Patriots 46-10. The Bears' defense was so powerful that the Patriots were held to a minus 19 yards in total offense in the first half. As the Super Bowl XX MVP. Richard Dent had 1.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, and a blocked pass. The beautifully painted football has one panel that has been hand-painted in vivid red, white, blue, and orange colors, reads, "RICHARD DENT MVP 1.26.86/SUPER BOWL XX /46 CHICAGO NEW ENGLAND 10." The football has been signed by Dent in black ink from a marker, but the signature has faded badly. The football is in excellent condition, and it hearkens back to the famous Chicago Bears' 46 Defense and the teams amazing 1985 season and Super Bowl XX mastery over the new England Patriots.
