1987 Mike Schmidt Philadelphia Phillies Signed Game Used Bat (PSA GU 9)

Hall of Fame third baseman Mike Schmidt had his last great season as a hitter in 1987, when this bat was used. Schmidt hit 37 home runs, drove in 113, and hit .293 with an OPS of .936. A winner of 10 Gold Gloves at third base, Schmidt was a tremendous offensive threat as well as he rocked 548 lifetime home runs, with 1,506 runs, 1,595 RBI, and a career OPS of .908. A letter of grading and authenticity by PSA/DNA states that this professional model bat has a length of 35.0" and a weight of 32.6 ounces, and the Rawlings/Adirondack bat Model Number 154A is ash with a flame burned finish. The letter of authenticity (enclosed with the bat) states that the bat exhibits evidence of excellent use with a handle crack that has been repaired. The letter also states that there is checking (grain swelling) from repeated ball contact on the bat barrel. The letter also indicates that the bat has red paint streaks and a light coat of pine tar on the handle. The PSA/DNA letter states, "Stamped onto the knob is the model number, order number (002) and year (7). The weight of the bat is written on the knob (32) and there is a "ST", which possibly stand for Spring Training. Written in black marker on the knob." PSA/DNA offered no opinion as to the authenticity of the Mike Schmidt signature on the bat. The PSA/DNA bat grade: PSA GU 9. Thus, the bat from this slugging Hall of Famer makes an outstanding addition to any collection.
