1987 Nolan Ryan Houston Astros Game Worn Jersey
So what if it was his 19th MLB season - Nolan Ryan was simply in charge with a league-leading 2.87 ERA in 1987, during which he sported this all-original Houston Astros jersey. Toning down from previous seasons, this one only has the multi-colored stripes on the shoulders, with "Astros" sewn across the front, "RYAN" on a nameplate on the reverse, and "34" just below. This is a Rawlings size 46, with "Set 1 1987" tagging inside front tail, and shows light use. Interestingly, although Rawlings was not the preferred manufacturer during this period, there is evidence of Ryan wearing Rawlings products during said time period whether it be spring training or on off days. As a pleasant bonus, the jersey is signed on the front in 8/10 black Sharpie.
