1990-91 Anthony Munoz Photo-Matched Cincinnati Bengals Season-Long Game Worn Helmet - Matched to Both Playoff Games and FIVE Total Games (Photo-Matched)

Cincinnati Bengals helmet worn by Hall of Fame tackle Anthony Munoz during the 1990 season. Lelands has photo-matched this helmet to numerous games during both the regular season and post-season, and the helmet displays heavy wear consistent with its year-long use. The Riddell orange helmet, with applied black stripes, features Munoz's uniform number ("78") in black vinyl numerals on the reverse, with an American flag decal to the direct left. The Riddell name on the reverse has been covered with a label reading "Bengals." Outstanding use is displayed throughout, including numerous scratches, nicks, abrasions, and paint transfers on the exterior, red smudges to the Riddell name on the front (which helps photo-match it), and heavy soiling on the interior. As is a common practice, one can see that several of the black stripes on the helmet required replacement during the season, due to the amount of wear endured by the many violent encounters with opposing defensive lineman and linebackers. Complete with its original chin strap, which is also heavily worn, and all interior padding.

Anthony Munoz is the greatest player in Bengals franchise history and considered by many to be the best tackle ever to play the game. Munoz played his entire thirteen-year career (1980-1992) career with the Bengals and helped lead the club to two Super Bowl appearances during that time. Among his many individual achievements are nine First Team All Pro selections, two Second Team All Pro Selections, eleven Pro Bowl selections, and inclusion on the NFL's 1980s All-Decade Team, 75th Anniversary All-Time Team, and 100th Anniversary All-Time Team. He was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1998.

(6) Photo-matches for this item can be accessed at Getty Images under the following numbers: 10/7 vs. Rams (Getty 71317990), 11/4 vs. Saints (Getty 465542207, 465542209, 465542239), 11/25 vs. Colts (Getty 102100465), 1/6/91 vs. Oilers AFC Wild Card (AP 509550980153), and 1/13/91 vs. Raiders AFC Divisional Game (AP 23264414482558) and 1991 Fleer #26 card.
