1990-91 Jay Leno Tonight Show Signed Contracts (12)
The actual NBC television contracts for the man who succeeded Johnny Carson. These are the ones that started the late night talk show wars with David Letterman and made famous in television annals by the book and film The Late Shift by Bill Carter. Though many are bound together, there are a total of twelve signed contracts here, varying from two to twenty pages in length. They are each signed in Mint ink. Jay has signed each of them. Helen Kushnick Leno's famous ousted manager has signed several of them as well, and Jay has signed some of them twice instead. Most are signed by NBC as well. One is initialed by Jay on all fifteen pages. Otherwise contracts are EX+. These contracts represent one of the most important annals in television history: The Late Show Wars.
