1991 Ken Clarke Minnesota Vikings Game Worn Jersey Photo-Matched to 1992 Topps Card and Two Games (Photo-Matched)
Offered is a 1991 Ken Clarke Minnesota Vikings game worn jersey from his final season. Clarke, a defensive tackle and nose tackle, played 14 NFL seasons. He broke into the NFL with the Philadelphia Eagles and played with the Eagles from 1978-87. While with Philadelphia, Clarke played in Super Bowl XV, when his Philadelphia Eagles lost 27-10 to the Oakland Raiders at the Superdome in New Orleans. Clarke played with the Seattle Seahawks in 1988 and spent his final three seasons with the Minnesota Vikings. Over 203 NFL career games, Clarke started 110, and had 59.0 lifetime sacks. The jersey is photo matched to the Vikings' game at the Atlanta Falcons on 9/8/1991 (Getty 81112046), won by Minnesota 20-19, when Clarke started at left defensive tackle, and photo matched to the 10/20/1991 Minnesota game against the New England Patriots (Getty 50723650), won by New England 26-23 in overtime, when Clarke again started at left defensive tackle. The jersey is also matched to the 1992 Topps card of Ken Clarke. The mostly mesh jersey has an NFL patch below the neck. The white jersey has a purple # "71" stenciled on front and on each sleeve. The back has a white nameplate with "CLARKE" in purple letters sewn on the top, and a stenciled # "71" on the back. The lower left front outside tail has a Wilson manufacturer's tag, and a small tag underneath reading "50" for size. The jersey makes a good NFL collectible because of the excellent game wear as it exhibits paint transfers, minor holes from wear, some loose threads, a few minor stains, and EIGHT team repairs.
