1991 Sam Snider Baltimore Orioles Prototype Jersey
Sam Snider Baltimore Orioles road jersey produced in 1981. This jersey was produced by Russell Athletic as a prototype for possible use by the Orioles in 1991. Ultimately, the Orioles decided to remain with Rawlings as its supplier of uniforms that season, making this a rare Orioles pro-style jersey. (The Orioles switched to Russell Athletic in 1992.) The gray knit jersey is lettered "Orioles" across the front and features the number "54" on the left breast and reverse. "Snider" is lettered upon a gray nameplate on the reverse, directly above the number. All letters and numerals are applied in black on orange tackle twill. Located on the left front tail are a "Russell Athletic 44" label and a white strip tag bearing the year ("91"). The jersey is original as issued, and displays no wear.
