1992 Dream Team Michael Jordan "Gold Medal" Signed Game Worn Sneakers - Gifted to Dream Team Staffer (Photo-Matched)

The NBA community swore by Chicago Bulls’ star Michael Jordan and his tough nature to get things done for his team in games between the Conferences. Who would have thought that one day he’d take that same determination to the Olympics? Michael Jordan and the “Dream Team” were well on their way to Barcelona as they entered the 1992 Tournament of the Americas. Held in Portland, Oregon, the Tournament of the Americas was played to earn the four spots allocated to the Americas for the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona. Ten teams from North, Central and South America all competed; Team USA dominated the field, won the tournament and was ranked number 1.Worn by Michael Jordan during the Tournament of Americas Gold Medal game held on July 5, 1992, this pair of sneakers is the only Michael Jordan photo-matched "Dream Team" item, of any kind, to be offered publicly. The photo-match is to an undated image but the consignor did receive them in the locker room following the mentioned Gold Medal game. White size 13 Nike Air Jordan 7‚s feature a gold Air Jordan logo and Michael’s USA number "9" on the backs of each shoe. Both show incredible use with creases and other signs of wear in all the right spots. The backs of each shoe were signed beautifully by Jordan in the locker room following the game.Comes from a member of the "Dream Team" support staff who was given these shoes by Michael Jordan in the locker room right after the Tournament of the Americas Gold Medal game. These shoes are "hobby fresh" and are truly one-of-a-kind. Consignor was also fortunate to have received the sneakers worn by Magic Johnson and Scottie Pippen in the same game; those too are in the current Lelands auction. Comes with Lelands LOA.Charitable Donation:Lelands Auctions will be donating 5% of the winning bid to benefit COVID-19 relief efforts. This 5% will be split between the Ronald McDonald House (2.5%) and America‚s Food Fund (2.5%).PHOTO-MATCH:An exact match has been made to Jordan wearing these shoes in the Gold Medal game against Venezuela! We found a tweet that contains a highlight video of Jordan playing against Venezuela and were able to match the four fans in the front row to Getty image 78544214. We were then able to definitively match three distinct characteristics from both shoes. Given this information, we have concluded that the Getty image is Michael Jordan hitting the corner three-pointer found at the 44 second mark of the tweet‚s video!Click Here to View Tweet
