1992 Iran Barkley IBF Championship Belt
The man nicknamed “The Blade” was taught to box by his sister while growing up in the Bronx. But there is nothing “girly” about his fighting style. The five time World Champion gained notoriety by knocking out Thomas “Hit Man” Hearns in ’88. Offered is the IBF Championship belt, awarded to Iran Barkley on January 10, 1992, after defeating Darrin Van Horn by TKO in the second round for the IBF Super Middleweight title. Impressive red leather belt is adorned with a large brass sculpture in center, lined with red & white stones surrounding the badge, “IBF World Champion, International Boxing Federation” with eagle above and boxing gloves below. This is flanked by two golden mirrors engraved, “Iran ‘Blade’ Barkley” and “2 Time World Chmp Boxer, Bronx, N.Y. 1992.” Connects at the ends by Velcro strap with brass buckle of 2 pugilists. Excellent condition. LOA from Barkley.
