1992 Joe Montana Game Used Helmet
After being sidelined during the first half of his final season in San Fran, the Comeback Kid gave the fans a farewell only he could. In front of a national audience, on Monday Night Football, Joe mounted one last dramatic come from behind victory against Detroit, throwing two late half TD's. White on red "SF" team logos appear on both sides of this golden "Air" helmet with NFL shield sticker on back. Over the left inner ear hole is a tape identifier, "16 Montana". A faded 16" appears below in black marker. Strong use is evident throughout especially in the padding. It's use also indicates the helmet made more than one appearance on field that season. Combine that with the fact he played only eight games that year and this quite possibly could have been the last helmet Montana wore as a Niner. Wow!
