1993 Batman by Shelby Moldoff Original Art including Robin & the Joker (2)
Add these prized pieces of comic art to your collection. Colored ink on artist board, each is signed by noted comic artist Sheldon Moldoff as "Sheldon 'Shelly' Moldoff," with the first piece, with Robin, dated "93" and the other piece, with the Joker, undated. A long-time cartoonist for DC Comics, Moldoff was a prolific cover artist and was one of DC Comics' Bob Kane's "ghost cartoonists," talented artists who drew anonymously under Kane's name and direction. The character of Batman made his debut in Detective Comics #27 dated May 1939. The actual Batman #1 comic first appeared in spring of 1940. Robin, the Boy Wonder, was added that spring, and a host of other characters began to appear, such as Catwoman and the Joker. The Batman series is still an ongoing series. Wonderful comic art from a long time master. 1) Original art showing Batman and Robin descending from the sky via "Bat Chutes." 2) Other original art shows Batman, perhaps in a nightmare, having three giant size Jokers all laughing at him. Great color. Each measures 9x12".
