1993 Florida Marlins and 1998 Tampa Bay Devil Rays Inaugural Season Game Used Jerseys
This lot includes game-used jerseys from the inaugural seasons of both the Florida Marlins and the Tampa Bay Devil Rays (now known simply as the Rays). Marlins catcher Benito Santiago wore his #09 jersey in 1993, when he hit the first home run in Marlins' team history. It is a doubleknit vest-style jersey with a teal cotton T-shirt underneath sporting the Marlins logo on the left sleeve and a 1993 inaugural year patch on the right sleeve. Jersey has Russell Athletic size 46 tag with 100%Polester hang tag and 1993 season tag on left front tail. The 1998 Devil Rays jersey was worn by pitcher Tony Saunders, who came to the Devil Rays from the Marlins in the expansion draft. It has a "Devil Rays Inaugural Season 1998" patch on the left sleeve, and a Russell Athletic size 46 tag with 100% polyester hang tag and "2” extra length" hang tags on the left front tail.
