1995 NBA All Star Game Playing Floor Section
Presented is a section of the actual wooden playing floor from the 1995 NBA All-Star Game, held at American West Arena, in Phoenix, Arizona, on Feb. 12, 1995. The game was won by the East team, as it defeated the West squad 139-112 before a crowd of 18,755. The East starters: Penny Hardaway, guard, Orlando Magic; Reggie Miller, guard, Indiana Pacers; Scottie Pippen, forward, Chicago Bulls; Grant Hill, forward, Detroit Pistons; Shaquille O'Neal, center, Orlando Magic. Reserves for the East: Vin Baker, Joe Dumars, Patrick Ewing, Tyrone Hill, Larry Johnson, Alonzo Mourning. The West starters: Latrell Sprewell, guard, Golden State Warriors; Dan Majerle, guard, Phoenix Suns; Charles Barkley, forward, Phoenix Suns; Shawn Kemp, forward, Seattle Supersonics; Hakeem Olajuwon, center, Houston Rockets. Reserves for the West: Dikembe Mutombo (replacing the injured Cedric Ceballos); Karl Malone, Gary Payton, Mitch Richmond, David Robinson, Detlief Schrempf, John Stockton. The West outscored the East in each quarter. Mitch Redmond, a shooting guard from the Sacramento Kings, was the game's high scorer and MVP, with 23 points. Shaquille O'Neal led the East in scoring with 22 points. The offered piece measures 6x6.75", with a thickness of 1.25". The offering weighs 20.25 ounces. On the section of playing floor is a 1.5x5.25" plaque that reads, "1995 ALL STAR PLAYING FLOOR/February 10-12, 1995/America West Arena - Phoenix, Arizona." An enclosed 4.25x5.5" card contains a detailed, description of the playing floor, reading in part: "The 6720 square foot floor consists of 203 4' by 8' panels and 14 4' by 4' panels.... Precision panels of northern hard maple are factory assembled over 1/2" underlayment board securely attached to 2' by 3' kilndried (sic) B&Btr Douglas Fir stringers...." The offering also comes with a Ticket Connection Certificate of Authenticity. This is an actual playing floor that was stepped on by legends, such as Hall of Famers, to name a few: Reggie Miller, Scottie Pippen, Charles Barkley, Karl Malone, Hakeem Olajuwon, John Stockton, etc. The offering also comes with a 4x6" color photo of the game, photographed from above and featuring a bird's eye view of the beautiful playing floor. The wooden floor section is in EXCELLENT condition.
