1996-97 Kevin Garnett Full Road Uniform
The baggy shorts era is in full swing, and Kevin Garnett was in the second season of his era in this 1996-97 Timberbwolves road uniform. The game use is apparent in the frayed stitching on the left leg slit of his shorts and the laundry-pinched green and black pine-tree border at the arm holes, collar, waist and leg holes. Intense wolves logo on the right thigh will make you want to howl at the progress of Garnett, a bona fide NBA superstar. The other thigh carries an MT decal in the face of the same wolf. Inside the waistband are a handwritten "21", his number, and "set 3" next to the size 46, plus two separate Champion labels, one with the wolf. The Timberwolves' Halloween type script runs across the chest over the number, and Garnett's silk letters are sewn invididually into the size 48 that was actually made by a local Twin Cities company, Steichen's. The three labels at the bottom of the singlet tell all. You might know his scoring average, but did you know Garnett is a "Body Length 3"? Whatever it is, it's really tall. Entire uniform stretched out looks almost cartoon-like in size, but it fits the 6-11 Garnett, the 2004 MVP. Let this garment be the start of something big in your collection. It worked for Garnett. In '96-'9 he raised his season scoring average from 10.7 in his rookie year to 17 points a game.
