1996 Herb Score Scorebook Recording Jeters 1st H.R.
Legendary Cleveland Indians pitcher-turned-broadcaster Herb Score chronicled the Cleveland Indians' 1996 regular season in this 12x14.5" scorebook that bears his name and image on the cover. 1996 was a spectacular season for the Tribe as they racked up a major league-best 99 wins, but the team they opened with - the New York Yankees - wound up winning the World Series that season. Opening Day is particularly noteworthy as Yankees rookie shortstop Derek Jeter homered in his second at-bat of the season, the first long ball of his career, propelling his team to a 7-1 victory. Other notable games scored by Score on WKNR that season include a 19-11 slugfest at Minnesota on July 13 and the Sept. 18 division clincher vs. Seattle at The Jake.
