1996 New York Yankees Large World Series Trophy (25" tall)
After lulling the Braves into a false sense of security in the first two games, the Yanks swept the next four to take their twenty-third World Championship. Please note that this is not the more common smaller trophy given to individuals (though even those are tough to come by). This is the giant model presented only to half a dozen or so top brass, and so almost never entering collecting circles. It's definitely one of the most visually impressive pieces in the hobby, and the importance of the new dynasty's first Championship cannot be understated. Team pennants surround ball and crown set on a base holding Yankee and Brave logo pins. "World Championship Trophy, Presented by the Commissioner of Baseball" is engraved on the brass band at bottom.
