1997-98 Jayson Williams New Jersey Nets Game Worn Jersey (PSA)

1997-98 Jayson Williams New Jersey Nets Game Worn Jersey (PSA)

Presented is a 1997-98 game worn, signed Jayson Williams New Jersey Nets jersey that was part of a charity auction held by the [New York] Knicks Kids Foundation. Williams played for nine seasons in the NBA as a power forward and center. He played his first two seasons (1990-92) with the Philadelphia 76ers, followed by his next seven years as a New Jersey Net (1992-99). Jayson played sparingly with Philadelphia, averaging 3.8 PPG and 2.5 TRB. As a Net, Williams had a larger role, averaging 8.9 PPG and 8.3 TRB. His best season was 1997-98, when as a Net he averaged 12.9 PPG and an outstanding 13.6 TRB, and he was selected for the NBA All-Star Game. After his playing career, Williams experienced serious legal difficulties. In 2018, Williams, along with co-writer Pete Williams, had published Crashing: A Memoir. The book talked about Williams' basketball career, his serving time in jail, and his ultimate redemption. The Jayson Williams game worn Nets' jersey is a white home mesh jersey. On the front is a small NBA logo patch, as well as "Nets" in blue letters with red and white trim and the number "55" in blue numerals with red and white trim. On the lower left front outside tail are two tags: 1) A Champion manufacturers' tag showing "1997-98," the NBA Authentics" logo, and the Nets logo, and Body Length +2". 2) Another "Champions" manufacturers' tag giving washing instructions and listing the size as "48." The back of the jersey shows "Williams" in sewn on blue letters with red trim, and the number "55" in blue numerals with red and white trim. Williams has signed and inscribed the jersey, in big and bold script, using a marker with blue ink, on the lower left front as "Jay Williams/#55 Nets." The jersey comes from Williams' best season, when he was a 1997-98 All-Star, and it shows light use. It is in excellent condition. The jersey comes with a certificate of Authenticity from the New York Knicks and also a PSA Letter of Authenticity for Auto.
