Lumber wielded by Mark McGwire during the summer of 1998 when he crushed 70 long ones throughout major league baseball, smashing Roger Maris' single season record that stood 37 years. Rawlings/Adirondack bat measures 34.5" and shows Excellent use, with numerous black streaks from National League balls on the right-hand hitting surface. Several lace marks present as well. Uncracked with caked pine tar on lower handle from repeated use. Model number and batch code stamped into knob "MAC25...511...98". A wonderful artifact of McGwire's from this record- breaking year that captivated the nation.
