1998 Wrestlemania XIV Mike Tyson Signed Wrestlemania Debut Ticket Stub PSA (Pop 1 of 2)
Presented is a highly unusual item that combines elements of both wrestling and boxing. The Mike Tyson signed ticket stub, for his WWF debut, is for the March 29, 1998, WrestleMania XIV event at the FleetCenter in Boston, Massachusetts. At that time, Mike Tyson was suspended from boxing because he had bitten off part of Evander Holyfield's ear in Tyson's World Heavyweight title defense on June 27, 1997. So, Tyson was at liberty to participate in WrestleMania as a "ring enforcer." The irony of the only fighter at that time to be disqualified from a Heavyweight Championship bout now being employed as a ring enforcer was either lost on WrestleMania's promoters, or, more likely, it was accepted as part of Tyson's crowd appeal. Only in wrestling would a ring enforcer actually become an expected participant as mayhem broke out and Tyson would have to "enforce order." WrestleMania XIV featured eight bouts, and in the feature presentation Stone Cold Steve Austin took the World Wrestling Federation Championship. The ticket is for a balcony seat priced at $50.00. Tyson's clear, neat signature was written in blue marker. The ticket stub has been encapsulated and graded by PSA/DNA as "Stub/Authentic."
