1999 Jorge Posada World Series New Yankees Signed Game Worn Jersey (PSA)
New York Yankees road jersey worn by catcher Jorge Posada during the 1999 World Series. The gray knit jersey is lettered "New York" across the front and features the number "20" on the reverse. All letters and numerals are applied in navy on white tackle twill. Two separate memorials appear on the left sleeve. The first is the number "5," for Joe DiMaggio, who died on March 8th, and the other is a black armband for Catfish Hunter, who died on September 9th. The 1999 World Series patch adorns the right sleeve. Located on the left front tail are a "Russell Athletic 48" label and, directly below, a white strip tag bearing the player's name and year ("Posada 99"). A flag tag reading 2" Extra Length appears below the manufacturer's label. Posada has signed the jersey in blue Sharpie (grading 9/10) on the left breast. The jersey is original as issued and displays moderate wear. Posada started in two of the four games of the 1999 Fall Classic, helping the Yankees sweep the Atlanta Braves and capture their second consecutive World Championship. Posada was a key member of the Yankees during his seventeen seasons with the club (1995-2011) and one of the club's legendary "Core Four." He is also one of only twenty-two Yankee players to have his number retired by the club. A Steiner Sports authentication hologram label is affixed to the manufacturer's tag. Comes with PSA LOA.
