1999 Ken Griffey Jr. Photo-Matched MTV Rock n Jock Game Worn Jersey (Photo-Matched)
Presented is the opportunity to possess the most affordable photo-matched Ken Griffey Jr. game worn jersey there is - a jersey that "The Kid," a Hall of Fame center fielder, wore in the 1999 MTV Rock and Jock Softball Game. Ken Griffey Jr., also known, appropriately enough, as "Junior", comes from a baseball family, as his father, Ken Griffey Sr., was a Major League outfielder with Cincinnati's Big Red Machine, as well as the New York Yankees and the Seattle Mariners. Junior played 22 Major League seasons, mostly with the Seattle Mariners and the Cincinnati Reds. He finished his career with 620 home runs, the seventh highest in Major League history. The Kid was a .284 lifetime hitter, an MVP, a 13-time All-Star, and the recipient of 10 Gold Gloves and seven Silver Slugger Awards. The displayed jersey has a Mitchell and Ness manufacturer's tag in the neck as well as a neck tag reading "XL" for size. An MTV logo patch is on back, and an "RnJ Baseball 99 MTV" patch is in front. Also on front is a Captain "C" patch. On front is "PROS" in navy blue and gray sewn-on letters and "24," in navy blue and gray sewn-on numerals. "GRIFFEY," in sewn-on navy blue letters is on back and beneath that is "24" in sewn-on navy blue and gray numerals. Getty image numbers: 111193298, 111193560, 111193482, and 111193381. "The Kid" won three Home Run Derby contests and his backwards worn cap and flair helped to propel him into celebrity fame. In 2015, Junior was a part of an MTV video, playing himself, that was made by Macklemore and Ryan Lewis that won Best Music Video at the MTV Europe Music Awards. The softball game worn jersey is in excellent condition, and it makes an unusual collectible from one of baseball's best ever players.
