On August 6, 1999 Gwynn hit his 3,000th hit. This cap was worn on September 17, 1999 in a game the Padres lost to the Giants. Signed in silver sharpie on the bill and under the visor is written “3049 9-17-99 US SF” denoting his 3,049th hit. His #19 written on the inside. Cap is a distinguished New Era “59/50” size 7 1/8. Looks great. Light game use.
