19th Century Boxing Bronze by Louis Auguste Moreau (1855-1919)
This stately sculpture, most likely dating from the 1890s, depicts a young boxer with fists raised. The bare fists help narrow the time frame, as does his elbows-out stance, and a single glove lays at his feet. It is signed by French sculptor and artist, Louis Moreau and measures 18" tall, and is on a 5.5" diameter wooden base. The piece is in EX-MT condition, a classy tribute to what is considered boxing's first Golden Age.
