19th Century Heubach Woman Golfer Bisque
This vintage antique Heubach German Bisque figurine delightfully creates the image of a genteel and well overdressed woman of leisure about to unleash a not-so-genteel drive, her eyes fixed on an unseen ball and her right leg planted firmly on the ground after addressing the ball. This porcelain figurine is beautifully hand painted, right down the to lady's snap-brim hat and pink tie, and crafted with absolute authenticity -- the way her long flowing green skirt is creased makes it look for all the world like the skirt is made out of real cloth. Even the mini golf club that can be placed in her hands is realistic, with black tape around the handle, a wooden shaft and a silver metal head (it too in matching bisque!). Approx 13" tall figurine is atop an undulating, daintily colored ceramic base approx. 9" in diameter and 2" thick, and is in astonishingly pristine condition with no appreciable paint loss, chipping or damage of any sort. A truly remarkable antique that perfectly strikes the tone of golf's original upper crust existence. The only one we have seen.
