19th Century Pugilistic Books with Jack Randall Signature
Wonderful collection of early books on boxing are all British. 1) The highpoint here is an early copy of <i>The Fancy</i> signed on the inside by the pugilist Jack Randall next to his section. Starts at Volume 1 #1 (Tom Cribb), and goes on to the "Negro" Molineaux and ends with #27 George Cooper. From a prestigious 50-year boxing book collection the autograph is 100% genuine and has been verified by two scholars in England. Book itself is EX. 2) <i>Tom Cribbs Memorial To Congress</i>. Third edition dates from 1819 and is one of the more important early tomes on the sport. Beautifully rebound at the turn of the century it is a splendid EX-MT specimen. 3) <i>The Fancy </i>(1820’s). Beautifully bound this carries the memoirs of such luminaries as Daniel Mendoza and several engraved plates including “Bitton the Jew.” EX.
