2000 New York Mets National League Championship Ring
After a forty-four year absence the Subway Series finally returned to the Big Apple matching the ever-present New York Yankees against their cross-town rivals, the New York Mets. The American Leaguers had continued to dominate the postseason, winning three out of the last four titles, and the Nationals were determined to finally end their reign. Unfortunately, the Mets fell short that year but regardless of the outcome, no one could deny them the applause they deserved for a stellar regular season and their efforts to rreturn the NL pennant to Shea. Presented is the original 14K sample ring that was later produced for the wives of the teams members and executives. At center is the "NY" logo, filled with actual sparkling diamonds, set upon a larger deep blue stone. Surrounding it is raised text that reads, "2000 National League Champions". On the right shank is an intircate design with four pennants, each from a Championship season, "1969", "1973", "1986", "2000" along with the words, "Subway Series". On the left sidde is a raised image of the New York skyline with "Wilpon" (owner), "Amazin' Again", and "Mets" above and below. NRMT, Size 7.
