2000 World Series Roger Clemens Signed Game Worn Yankees Jersey

2000 World Series Roger Clemens Signed Game Worn Yankees Jersey

This outstanding Yankees road jersey was both worn in the 2000 World Series and signed by none other than Roger Clemens. Often referred as the "Subway Series", Clemens is most remembered for the "incident" he had with Mets catcher Mike Piazza. Early in Game 2 at Yankee Stadium, during Piazza's first time up, a Clemens pitch shattered Piazza's bat. The ball went foul, but a sharp edge of the bat came towards Clemens. He came off the mound and threw the bat towards the baseline, almost hitting the running Piazza. After the game, Clemens would say he did not see Piazza running and threw the bat because he was pumped up with nervous energy and initially charged the incoming broken bat, believing it to be the ball.Jersey is all original and complete with the 2000 WS patch on the right sleeve and the Bob Lemon memorial black armband on left sleeve. The Russell Athletic front tail tag reads "YO", size "52" and "2" extra length." The Roger Clemens signature on the front left under the words "New York" is in blue and looks incredible on this game used World Series jersey. Nice Yankee piece.
