2001 New England Patriots Super Bowl XXXVI Championship Ring - Presented to Long-Time Team Employee

2001 New England Patriots Super Bowl XXXVI Championship Ring - Presented to Long-Time Team Employee

What a way to kick off a run of Super Bowl championships. In 2001, New England Patriots kicker Adam Vinatieri broke a 17-17 tie with a game-winning field goal as time expired, giving Brady and Belichick the first of their four trophies. This Super Bowl XXXVI Championship ring was given to one of the longest tenured employees in Patriots history, George Boyajian, who had worked for the franchise for over 25 years and was a World War II submarine master from 1942-1956. It is presented in its original wood box engraved with the Super Bowl Logo reading "New England Patriots, World Champions 2001" and silver plate inside engraved "George Boyajian 2001." The ring size is 11, and is 14k white gold. There are 42 diamonds representing the Patriots' 42nd anniversary. The left shank reads: "Boyajian, 14-5, Staff, Team" while the right shank reads: "2001, Pats 20, Rams 17" with a diamond in the Lombardi Trophy. There is a Jostens 14k" engraved inside and the ring comes with an invitation to the ring ceremony addressed to George, and an appraisal letter from Richard Pongratz. This was a monumental season for the Patriots as it was Tom Brady's breakout rookie year and he led the team to an 11-5 regular season record before powering their way through the playoffs and upsetting the heavily-favored St. Louis Rams.
