2001 Tom Brady AFC Playoff "Tuck Rule Game" Dated Full Ticket PSA PR 1

2001 Tom Brady AFC Playoff "Tuck Rule Game" Dated Full Ticket PSA PR 1

Displayed is a super rare, dated ticket to the famous Tom Brady "Tuck Rule" Playoff game on Han. 19, 2002 when his New England Patriots defeated the Oakland Raiders 16-13 in overtime. The game not only propelled the Patriots onward in the playoff where they eventually won Super Bowl XXXVI against the St. Louis Rams, but it changed the way football games were called. And, according to Brady, it may have altered his future. In this memorable game, New England trailed St. Louis 13-10 and the Patriots had the ball with less than two minutes to play. As Brady dropped back to pass, his arm was hit by Oakland's defensive back Charles Woodson. Th ball fell loose, the Raiders recovered, but the officials ruled that because Brady intended to tuck the ball, so that since his arm was still going forward, that the correct call was an incomplete pass rather than a fumble. Eventually, New England tied the game in regulation and won 16-13 in overtime. In an ESPN 30 for 30 documentary, Brady looked back at the incident and said that if he didn't get that ruling on the play, "I'm probably the backup quarterback in 2002." The ticket is extremely because almost all the tickets to the game had to have been listed as TBD (To Be Decided). Thus, dated tickets to this January 19th game are extraordinarily rare. The full ticket has been encapsulated and graded PSA PR 1. The ticket appears to grade better than the listed grade.
