2002 Manny Ramirez Boston Red Sox Game Worn Jersey w/Non-Matching Pants - AL Batting Crown Season

2002 Manny Ramirez Boston Red Sox Game Worn Jersey w/Non-Matching Pants - AL Batting Crown Season

<p>Boston Red Sox road jersey worn by outfielder Manny Ramirez during the 2002 season. The gray knit jersey is lettered "Boston" across the front and features the number "24" on the reverse. "Ramirez" is lettered on a gray nameplate on the reverse, directly above the number. All letters and numerals are applied in red on navy tackle twill. A black arm band and the number "9," in memory of Ted Williams, who died in July of that year, have been applied to the right sleeve. Located on the left front tail are a "Russell Athletic" label, a "2002" year tag, and a "54" size tag. The red piping around the base of each sleeve has been removed (we have seen this on a number of other 2002 Red Sox jerseys as well), but aside from that the jersey is all original, with no other alterations. Moderate wear is displayed, including a team repair to a tear on the left sleeve. The jersey is accompanied by a pair of non-matching 2001 Boston Red Sox gray-knit road pants attributed to Ramirez. Located in the waistband are a "Russell Athletic size 40" label and a white strip tag listing the size, inseam, and year ("40/42-34-01"). Attribution to Ramirez is based upon the number "24" written in black marker in three separate areas of the waistband. The elastic around each leg hole has been removed and there is a small tear at the base of each leg. Moderate wear is displayed throughout. 2002 marked one of Ramirez's finest all-around seasons. In addition to his league-leading totals in both batting average (.349) and on-base percentage (.450), he also hit 33 home runs, and drove in 107 runs. A member of the baseball's elite 500 Home Run Club, Ramirez finished his 19-year career with 555 home runs, 1,831 RBI, and a .312 lifetime average.&nbsp;</p>
