Pair of collegiate Bowl Game rings earned by 8-year NFL pro Bernard Pollard during his playing days at Purdue University. 1) Capital One Bowl played on January 1, 2004 - ring is approximately size 14, weighs 28 grams. Face has a gold-colored football-shaped set stone with a cubic zirconia stone in center. Outer bezel reads Capital One Bowl, inner reads Purdue University, sides split the year 2004. Left shank has January 1 in relief with game logo, right reads POLLARD above a Purdue helmet, above his number 31. Purdue fell to Georgia in that game, 34-27 in overtime. 2) Sun Bowl played on December 31, 2004 - ring is approximately size 14, weighs 29 grams. Face has a football-shaped CZ surrounded by about a dozen others to create a football shape. Bezel reads Sun Bowl/El Paso TX on left and right respectively, year 2004 is split on top and bottom. Left shank has a raised POLLARD above a Boilermakers logo, above DB (Defensive Back). Opposite shank reads Shillelagh above the numbers 41-16, referencing that year's victory over Notre Dame in the rivalry game for which the Shillelagh Trophy is presented. Purdue fell to Arizona State, 27-23 in the Sun Bowl. Rings show slight use, EX-NM condition.
