2004 Livan Hernandez Silver Slugger Award
Pitcher Livan Hernandez was far from an automatic out at the plate, authoring a career .221 batting average and 10 home runs. The Cuban native hit .247 with a homer and 10 RBI in just 81 at-bats for the 2004 Montreal Expos. As a result,he earned this Silver Slugger award. Created by the manufacturer of Louisville Slugger bats, this 33"-tall award reads: "HILLERICH & BRADSBY CO. SILVER SLUGGER AWARD PRESENTED TO LIVAN HERNANDEZ-P MONTREAL EXPOS MEMBER OF THE NATIONAL LEAGUE OFFENSIVE TEAM -2004- ALBERT PUJOLS-1B MARK LORETTA-2B, JACK WILSON-SS, ADRIAN BELTRE-3B, BARRY BONDS.-OF, JIM EDMONDS-OF, BOBBY ABREU-OF, JOHNNY ESTRADA-C." It is in EX-MT condition with the Louisville Slugger emblem at the top and comes directly from Livan with a hand-signed LOA. By the time this award was handed out, the Expos were no longer in existence as the franchise had closed up shop in Canada and was on the move to Washington.
