2005 Brian Schneider Signed Washington Nationals Unused Inaugural Season Jersey
Offered is an unused Brian Schneider Inaugural Season (2005) Washington Nationals autographed jersey. A catcher, Schneider played in 13 Major League seasons. His first five seasons in the Majors were with the Montreal Expos. When the Expos moved to Washington D.C. to become the Nationals, Schneider became the Nationals' first ever catcher. In that year, Schneider hit .268, with 10 homers and 44 RBIs. Defensively, he threw out 38% of runners who were attempting to steal, the best in the Major Leagues. In fact, from 2003 through 2005, Schneider threw of 43.5% of runners attempting to steal, the best in MLB in that period. The gray away jersey has "Washington" in red, white, and blue sewn-on letters across the chest. On the left chest is "23" in sewn-on red, white, and blue letters. On the left lower tail is a "MLB AUTHENTIC MAJESTIC" manufacturer's tag. On the back is "SCHNEIDER" in blue sewn-on letters with red trim. Under the name is "23" in red, gold, and blue trim on sewn-on numerals. The gold-colored section of the lower part of the "3" is partially torn. On the lower left inside tail is a tag with washing instructions that show the jersey to be 100% polyester. An MLB patch is on the back of the collar. The left sleeve has a beautiful red, white and blue patch that reads "Washington DC Nationals." Under the above-mentioned patch is a sewn-on Majestic logo. Schneider has neatly signed the jersey on the mid-part of the numeral "2" with a silver-colored fine-tipped marker. The jersey is a store jersey (Code 6200 indicates that), and it was not used, donated by Schneider and later purchased at a charity auction. The signed jersey makes a fine remembrance from the Washington Nationals' inaugural season.
