2006 Alex Rodriguez Game Used Opening Day "Grand Slam" Cap, Cleats & Gloves (Photomatched & A-Rod LOA)
On April 3, 2006, the Yankees blitzed the A's in Oakland on Opening Day, with Alex Rodriguez delivering a grand slam in his second at-bat off lefty ace Barry Zito and officially knocking him out of the ballgame. Here's the gear he was wearing when he launched that mammoth shot. The Nike cleats feature A-Rod's number "13" and are inscribed: "Alex Rodriguez GU 4.3.06" and "#1 Grand Slam." The Nike Elite batting gloves with "ARod" insignia are inscribed: "Alex Rodriguez Game Used 4.3.06 HR #1 GS," the Nike Elite wristbands with number "13" insignia are inscribed "ARod" in silver Sharpie, and the New Era cap with number "13" written under the bill features the following inscription in silver Sharpie on the top of the bill: "Alex Rodriguez GU 4.3.06 HR #1 Grand Slam Opening Day Zito." Everything is game used and photomatched, and each comes with a signed LOA by A-Rod.
