2006 Eli Manning NY Giants Game Used Road Jersey
This authentic, game-used Eli Manning New York Giants road jersey from the 2006 season is a must-see for any Giants fan or Elimaniac. Worn by Eli during the Giants' 27-13 victory over the Carolina Panthers on December 10, 2006, this white jersey with red numbering contains all proper tagging and identifiers, which are each properly sewn on to the jersey. Countless pictures and videos from the game demonstrate the physical toll Eli took, though he was sacked only once. Still, the deep green grass stains that adorn both the front and back of the jersey are clear proof that it is not easy to be an NFL quarterback. Some of the most attention-grabbing stains include a streak of dirt through the "M" and "A" in "MANNING," stitched on the back of the jersey, and a deep grass stain slightly above and to the right of the "A." Also on the back, the largest of the grass stains runs about seven “ down the center of the shirt between the numbers "1" and "0." On the front, a few scattered, but clear grass stains can be found below the number 10, but the most noteworthy gridiron remnant is located just above the number "1" on the front of the jersey. There, a two-inch, light brown marking bears strong resemblance to a few lost drops of blood. In the game during which this jersey was worn, Manning stepped up big time when faced with a must-win situation (something that has since become a trademark of his career), leading the Giants to victory by throwing for 172 yards and three touchdowns. His efforts were not in vain, as the Giants found themselves in the playoffs at season's end. Although he has already won two Super Bowls, the best very well may be yet to come for this franchise quarterback, and this early-career piece of memorabilia will only grow in its significance should that end up being the case.
