2006 Martina Navratilova US Open Match Worn & Signed Uniforn & Raquet
In what would be the final Grand Slam stop on her farewell tour, Martina capped off her career as a champion, winning the U.S. Open mixed doubles event with Bob Bryan, her 41st Grand Slam doubles title (31 in women’s doubles and 10 mixed doubles) and 177th overall. Earlier though, her run for a tenth Women's Doubles crown had ended as she and Nadia Petrova bowed out to Lisa Raymond and Samantha Stosur in the quarterfinals. On the hard court that day, September 6, 2006, she wore this Under Armor outfit and swung this custom made Bosworth racquet. Each of these items show noticeable use and have been signed by the tennis great in black sharpie (all 9/10). One of the finest Navratilova match-used sets, along with the two other lots here for auction, ever to be made available to the public that comes with indisputable signed provenance directly from Martina herself.
