2006 St. Louis Cardinals World Championship Ring
Genuine diamonds highlight this beautiful championship ring from the 2006 St. Louis Cardinals, who defeated the Detroit Tigers for their 10th title. This belonged to relief pitcher Jorge Sosa, who was obtained at the July 31 trade deadline after the Atlanta Braves had designated him for assignment. While with the Redbirds, the right-hander compiled a 5.28 ERA and was not included on the postseason roster, missing the team's title run. Still, the franchise rewarded him with this "B" ring, which is still extraordinary - a size 10.5 with Intergold 10K markings. The diamond-encrusted face of the ring is highlighted by a red St. Louis logo with "ST. LOUIS CARDINALS WORLD CHAMPIONS" surrounding it. The left shank has Sosa's name plus logos for the team and new Busch Stadium. The left shank reads: "2006" and "TENTH WORLD SERIES TITLE" sandwiching another team logo. Jorge gave this to his father, who in turn pawned it. Included is a copy of the pawn receipt. 35.8 grams.
