Gery Sheffield spoke loudly through his bat, to the tune of 509 home runs and a .292 lifetime average. He also spoke loudly through his voice, and made statements that ruffled the feathers of players, management, and writers. "I tell myself every off-season that I'm not going to say anything crazy," said Sheffield. "Can't do it. I'm cut from a different cloth." Sheffield played 22 Major League seasons and was with eight teams: Primarily, the Florida Marlins, Los Angeles Dodgers, Milwaukee Brewers, and New York Yankees. Offered is a 2008-09 Gary Sheffield game used bat from his time with the Detroit Tigers. An outfielder, shortstop and third baseman, Sheffield hit 44 homers and drove in 132 runs in his two years with Detroit. He also helped win a World Series with the Miami Marlins in 1997. The Rawlings Adirondack bat is a "Big Stick Gary Sheffield Pro" model, and it is 34.5" in length, and it weighs 33.25 ounces. The bat has a classic taped knob. Sheffield signed the bat on the barrel with a silver marker, and he inscribed the bat with "#3", his jersey number, and during his time with Detroit, the only time he wore #3. The bat is authenticated by Sheff Authentications with holo on barrel.
