2007 David Ortiz Boston Red Sox World Championship Season Signed Game Used Bat (PSA GU 8.5)
<p>Presented is the opportunity to own a David Ortiz game used bat from the Boston Red Sox Championship 2007 season. Ortiz hit 35 homers in 2007 with 117 RBI. His power-hitting threat helped him to lead the American in walks (111) and OBP (.445). The Red Sox won the American league East and took the pennant. Then the Boston swept the Colorado Rockies to win the World Series. According to the PSA/<span style="font-size: 10pt;">DNA Letter of Authenticity provided with the bat, this Rawlings Model 456B bat is 34.5 inches in length and it weighs 32.2 ounces. It is made of ash, with a black finish on the top end, and no finish on the bottom end. The bat is uncracked, and it exhibits excellent evidence of use. "Several ball marks and ball stitch impressions are visably on the right,, left and back barrel. There is a light coat of pine tar on the handle and around the Rawlings logo." The model number (456B), order number (118), and year (07) are stamped onto the knob. According to the letter of Authenticity, "A lso appearing on the knob is the weight of the bat (32) and "Ortiz" written in black ball point ink." A David Ortiz autograph in silver is on the front barrel. The PSA/DNA Letter of Authenticity is for the bat only. PSA/DNA has no opinion on the authenticity of the autograph. The PSA/DNA enclosed Letter of Authenticity grades the bat as: PSA/DNA GU 8.5. Early Hall of Fame balloting results indicate that David Ortiz has a good shot to win election to the Hall of Fame in 2022, and if that occurs, the value of this 1987 Championship season bat from Big Papi can only soar.
