2008 Sam Cassell Boston Celtics NBA Finals Warm-Up Jacket
Boston Celtics warm-up jacket worn by point guard Sam Cassell during the 2008 NBA Finals against the Los Angeles Lakers. Accompanied by an LOA signed by Cassell in which he writes that this jacket ". . . . was worn by me during multiple warm-ups in the 2008 NBA Finals where my team, the Boston Celtics, won the 2008 NBA Championship." The green-and-white polyester button-down jacket is lettered "Celtics" across the front and features a white shamrock on the reverse, both of which are applied in white tackle twill. "Cassell" is lettered in green tackle twill upon a white name plate on the reverse, directly above the shamrock. An NBA Finals patch appears on the left sleeve. Located in the collar are an "Adidas "NBA Authentics" label and laundry tag. The NBA patch appears on the reverse collar. The jersey is original as issued and displays light wear, including light scattered staining on both the front and reverse. The 2008 NBA Finals marked the last time Sam Cassell would appear on the hardwood as a player. A veteran of fifteen seasons, Cassell joined the Celtics during the second half of the 2007-2008 season after being released by the Los Angeles Clippers. In Boston, he became a key member of the league's strongest bench, which helped defeat the Lakers in the NBA Finals. The victory gave Cassell the third and final NBA Championship of his career. LOA from Sam Cassell.
