2008 Tom Brady & Eli Manning Signed Super Bowl XLII Game Used Football (NFL PSA, Tristar & Steiner)
Amazing Super Bowl XLII game used football signed by both quarterbacks from one of the great storylines in the history of the Big Game. Now known as the David Tyree Catch game, the New York Giants entered the contest as prohibitive underdogs as the New England Patriots sought to become only the second team in NFL history to complete a perfect season. Official NFL The Duke (Goodell) ball has Super Bowl XLII logo on one panel adjoining the laces, with the other burned in with "New York Giants - New England Patriots - Arizona - February 3, 2008." Panel below the SB logo is stamped PATRIOTS, and that panel is signed in 10/10 silver paint pen by Tom Brady. On the panel immediately below that is the 10/10 signature of Eli Manning with the inscription "SB XLII MVP," as his Giants staged an incredible last-minute comeback to take a 17-14 decision. New York won on a last minute touchdown reception by Plaxico Burress, which would not have been possible had it not been for a miraculous play moments before, as Manning scrambled for his team's season before finding Tyree, whose spectacular catch by pinning the ball against his helmet prolonged the eventual game-winning drive. Ball is slightly deflated; has holos from Tristar and Steiner, and to the right of those holos, MC is written in black, likely for head official Mike Carey. Also comes with NFL PSA LOA. A significant and historic keepsake from one of the most memorable games in American sports history.
